With the Iowa high school baseball and softball seasons now underway, the Perry School District reminds fans of the guidelines for attending games.

Due to ongoing concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, anyone showing symptoms of the virus or who has come into contact with someone confirmed positive in the last 14 days should not attend the sporting events. Face masks are not required to attend the games but are recommended, and social distancing must be exercised at all times. As a result, bleacher seating will be limited and fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs to space themselves out. To better accommodate spectators, the school will allow them to spread out around the field and will not be utilizing the right and left field wind screens this year. The Dallas County Health Department also advises that sitting side-by-side in the bleachers is better than in front of each other due to the way the virus germs tend to travel.

There will also be no concessions, but coolers are acceptable and must be limited to use by single households. Restrooms will be available, and school staff will clean and sanitize them after each event. As another reminder, if you’re unable to attend the Bluejays and Jayettes games in person this season, you can hear all the action on Raccoon Valley Radio. Live play-by-play of Perry baseball and softball will be broadcast on AM 1310, FM 99.7 KDLS, at RaccoonValleyRadio.com, and on our free mobile app.
