A prominent utility provider with a location in Perry has announced grants provided to several different entities in the communities they operate in.

Power line company ITC Midwest has committed $175,000 in a second round of disaster relief funding related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which will support mental health and substance abuse service agencies throughout their four-state footprint. In the Perry area, the company is providing funds to the Perry Alano Club, which provides local Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous programs, and Zion Recovery Services, a drug rehabilitation center with offices in Perry and Adel. The two local nonprofits were among 23 in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin to receive funds from ITC Midwest on this occasion.

The company also supported 34 food charities in April with their first round of pandemic relief grants. Corporate leadership said in a statement that they have always taken an active role in the communities they serve by offering support beyond providing energy, and they felt it was important to fund organizations that are focused on improving the mental health and well-being of people throughout their region. ITC Midwest operates nearly 6,700 circuit miles of electrical transmission lines, and maintains several regional operating facilities including their site in the Perry Industrial Complex.
