The Perry Public Library is offering an upcoming event that will allow children to take an active role in creating their next favorite toy.

The library’s “Imagine Your Story” summer reading program invites kids through 5th grade to sign up for a virtual story time and stuffed animal creation session. It will take place on Thursday, July 2nd at 10 a.m., and features Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel reading “Once Upon a Unicorn’s Horn” by Beatrice Blue. Attendees will also be taken through the process of filling their own stuffed unicorn. Materials will be made available prior to the program, which will be held via Zoom video conference.

The cost to participate is $5 per child, which covers the materials for the stuffed animals. Supplies are limited, so families are encouraged to register right away. You don’t have to be enrolled in the summer reading program to take part, but those who are already involved will be emailed directly with a link to register. For more information or to sign up, call the library at 515-465-3569 or click the link below.
