With the recent announcement that the City of Perry would not be holding its annual Fourth of July celebration, apart from the fireworks display, the Perry Fine Arts Committee announced a cancellation of their own related to COVID-19.

Committee member Cathy Clark says they have decided to not sponsor their annual Independance Day concert this year. She notes that the committee found it difficult to make the decision, not just because it’s typically their best attended show of the year, but also because there’s no way of knowing in mid June what the gathering restrictions will be on July 4th. Clark offers the committee’s apologies to patrons who had provided financial support for the concert, and encourages the public to consider donating to future events.

Clark is hopeful that the Fine Arts concerts will resume this fall and that they’ll be able to once again have a full season between then and July 4th, 2021.
