There is now a definitive date for the opening of the Adel Family Aquatic Center, though due to coronavirus concerns public access will be limited.
Starting on Monday, June 22nd, the center will be open for swim lessons, lap swim, and Aqua Zumba programs only. Governor Kim Reynolds recently announced that swimming pools around the state now have the option to resume open swim, though social distancing between employees and patrons is still required to reduce the spread of COVID-19. With that in mind, the Adel Parks and Recreation Department decided to restrict the swimming activities for the time being. Parks and Rec Director Nick Schenck says he’ll continue to monitor the latest guidelines from the Governor’s Office, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Iowa Department of Public Health before making any future decisions.
