A reminder: the 2020 Perry High School graduation ceremony will be held tomorrow evening.
Superintendent Clark Wicks says the event will begin at 7 p.m. He notes, the proceedings will be vastly different this year due to the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, though he feels it should still be a fun night for the graduates and their families. “Well, it’s going to be exciting. It’s what the students and parents really wanted in the survey, they said, ‘We want to have a real graduation, in person.’ So that’s going to be fantastic for a couple reasons. One, it’s going to be in person; number two, it’s going to be something we haven’t done for a long time – it’s going to be at Dewey Field, outside.”
Wicks reminds families that students are only allowed four tickets to the event, distributed during today’s rehearsal, though the ceremony will be broadcast live via social media. The venue will open to attendees at 6 p.m. tomorrow, and graduates are reminded to arrive at the high school no later than 6:30. Masks are recommended, and the school will provide free Bluejay-themed face coverings to any student that wants one. Speakers during the event will include High School Principal Dan Marburger and Senior Class President Hannah Peterson.
