The fact that the state of Iowa is getting the opportunity to play baseball and softball this summer is a shortened season is an exciting opportunity for the players to showcase their talents. One of the big things that teams for ADM and all across the state of Iowa will be keeping an eye is something that they have no control over.

Obviously weather in the state of Iowa is unpredictable, and usually rain is going to play a factor into every season. If there is a rain out for any baseball and softball game most years, there is a decent opportunity to get the game rescheduled and get most of your games in for that year. With teams squeezing in as many games as they can this year during the four week regular season, if there is any game that is unable to be played due to severe weather, there is a good chance that the game unfortunately won’t have the opportunity to reschedule. For each ADM team, they will be playing at least three games a week during the regular season, with a couple of weeks to have 5 plus games. Also opponents schedules are expected to be busy as well, so finding an open date for both teams could be difficult, and unfortunately the game wouldn’t be played.

Weather will need to cooperate, because if there is a stretch of rainy days during a portion of the season, it will be difficult to make up.
