One of the major keys to any successful softball team run is the ability to have good pitching and find ways to keep your team in softball games. For the West Central Valley Wildcats, their success to the 2020 softball season might be their ability to start limiting runs and find ways to key a young team in ball games.

Junior Abbi Beane, and freshmen Bethany Speichinger, Marissa Hagen, and Tasha Williams were the four players who saw time in the circle last year, and all are expected to contribute to the pitching staff in some way or form this year.

Beane and Hagen were the two pitchers that saw the most time at the pitching position last year and are hoping to rely on their defense just a little bit more. Last year WCV as a team gave up 318 runs from a pitching staff position, but only 179 of those were earned runs. The Wildcats will be hoping to have a more reliable defense this year, as they look to continue to get better.

There will for sure continue to be some growing pains, but the Wildcats have a young exciting staff, and hope to make some improvements upcoming this year.
