Panorama’s three leading batters from last season are returning, they also happen to share the same last name.

Juniors Evan and Drew and Sophomore Brice Taylor stood out in 2019 as underclassmen and are poised to take the next step. The trio were either first, second, or third best on the team in virtually every statistical category. Evan and Drew were also frequent in the leaders for the West Central Activities conference. Drew found himself among the top five best in batting average, strikeouts for a pitcher, triples, total bases, slugging percentage, innings pitched, and led the entire conference with three home runs. Evan was top five in batting average, triples, on base  and slugging percentage, put outs, fielding opportunities. Probably the most remarkable stat for the duo was in their combined 183 at-bats, they only struck out three times, which was best and second-best in the conference. We had our Raccoon Valley Radio mathematicians crunch the numbers, and that equates to a staggering .016 strikeout percentage between the two.

Brice didn’t have a bad freshman season either as he batted .354, had 29 hits in 82 at-bats and showed his power ability by hitting two homeruns as well. Between the three, they accounted for 113 of the teams 237 hits, 90 of the teams 213 runs, 13 of the teams 17 triples, and all six of the teams homeruns.

First pitch for the Panthers will be Monday, June 15th when they take on West Central Valley on the road.
