A Bayard man was recently sentenced for two felony drug incidents that occurred in July of 2019.

Court documents show that 47-year-old Shawn Matthew Lyons was convicted of two counts of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class C felony, and operating while intoxicated first offense, a serious misdemeanor. A 10-year prison sentence was suspended for Lyons to serve three years of probation for each of the felonies, to be served concurrently. Lyons must serve two days in the Guthrie County Jail and then be placed on one year of probation for the OWI, which shall also be served concurrently with the other sentences. All other charges in the cases were dismissed.

He must also pay over $6,300 in fines, surcharges, supervision fees, and restitution altogether for the two cases. Lyons was originally charged with a class B felony as a result of search warrants executed by the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office. His wife, 45-year-old Sherri L. Lyons is also currently charged for a felony drug incident. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
