A fire destroyed a house Monday evening north of Dawson, though initial reports indicated there were no injuries involved.

According to Assistant Perry Fire Chief Brian Eiteman, the call came in at just after 5 p.m., and when he arrived the house was already completely engulfed. The house was located in the 13000 block of 120th Street just inside the Greene County line, and Eiteman says it appeared no one was home at the time. He added, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and notes the gas and electric to the building were turned off at the time.

The Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, and Dallas County Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
