There are going to be nights in the game of baseball where everything is going right for your team and nights that anything isn’t going to go right, and that can be apart of the ebbs and flows of baseball. It’s the nights where one or two plays could be the difference between a win and a loss, and can determine the success of the season. For the ADM Tigers, one of the big things that they will be focused on will be the ability to make those big plays in a close baseball game.
During the 2018-2019 season, ADM was able to go 7-7 in games decided in three runs or less, but most importantly 2-0 in playoff games that ultimately determined that they were going to state. In that state game against Xavier, it was 2-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning before the eventual state champion was able to rattle off five runs in the sixth inning to pull out the victory.
For an ADM team that is looking to get back to state once again, one of the most important factors in the shortened season will be the ability to win close baseball games, and if they can just make that extra play to put them over the top in close games, the wins will start to pile on in the wins column as well.
