Things are gradually starting to reopen around central Iowa following the local outbreak of COVID-19, and for the City of Adel that means full access to the public parks once again.
As of this week, all public playgrounds are accessible, as are the restrooms at Kinnick-Feller and Evans parks. The City advises people that use of the playgrounds and restrooms is at the public’s own risk, as crews will not be performing any additional disinfecting or sanitizing of the facilities. However, City staff advises the public that they’re free to sanitize playground equipment before and after they use it, which they add would be a good idea.
The Adel Parks and Recreation Department also notes that shelters can once again be reserved starting this week, though again people are responsible for cleaning the space before and after use. The City is still assessing if and when the Adel Family Aquatics Center will open to the public this summer, though they hope to have a plan by next week. Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to Adel City Hall at 515-993-4525. To make shelter reservations, click the link below.
