The countdown to getting back to high school athletics is getting nearer and nearer. Just 12 days from now, June 15, high school teams from across the state of Iowa will be on the diamond for the first time in the 2020 season following a delayed start from the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the first two days of practice, DC-G Softball Coach, Steve Schlafke has to be excited about his team’s potential for the 2020 season. Schlafke talked with Raccoon Valley Radio on Monday during the Dallas County PM Sports Page on KDLS regarding his team’s success last year and his goals for the Fillies this year. Dallas Center-Grimes Head Baseball Coach, Byron Peyton had his team on the field for practice the last two days, as well. Peyton’s sqaud is coming off of a 23 win season, and a #15 ranking statewide in Class 3A. In 2019, the Mustangs had their season come to a close on their own field at the hands of ADM in a District Semifinal match-up.
