Don’t forget, the polls are open from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. today for the 2020 Primary Election.

Dallas County voters are further reminded to double check their precinct location, as there are only eight stations open. Auditor Julia Helm says they consolidated precincts because they lacked poll workers for the election due to staffing restrictions related to COVID-19. Some precincts are also reporting to sites that haven’t typically served as polling locations. For example, voters in all three Perry precincts, Spring Valley/Dallas, and Beaver/Des Moines are to cast their ballots at Perry Elementary School, which offers a larger space than other common sites to allow for proper social distancing.

Similarly, voters in both Adel precincts and Colfax/Adel are to report to the Adel Public Library. The other polling locations include: Heartland Presbyterian Church in Clive for all Urbandale and Clive precincts; the Redfield American Legion for Union and Lincoln/Washington/Linn; the Van Meter American Legion for Adams, DeSoto, and Van Meter; 1st Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center for Sugar Grove/Dallas Center and Walnut/Grimes/Grant; the Waukee School Administration Building for all Waukee precincts; and the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines for all West Des Moines precincts. Voters are reminded to bring photo identification to the polls, as well as proof of residence if they need to register on site.
