vote-and-election-sign

Today is the June Primary Election Day in Iowa and those Greene County residents that have not yet voted can do so.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, there are two polling locations for the entire county due to COVID-19 concerns. The three Jefferson precincts will vote at the Greene County Middle School gym in Jefferson, while all other precincts will vote at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. Polls are open from 7am-9pm.

The Auditor’s Office reminds voters who are pre-registered to vote must provide an approved form of identification at their polling location before casting a ballot. Voters who are unable to provide this information may have another registered voter confirm their identity in their precinct, prove their identity or residency using an Election Day Registrant document or cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity to the auditor’s office by noon on June 8th.

The contested races in Greene County include the Republican nomination for the 4th Congressional District seat, as well as the Republican and Democratic nominations for the Iowa Senate District 24 seat. After the polls close, Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you the election results later tonight and tomorrow.
