The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The meeting began with a discussion on the possible acquisition of the Midland Power Cooperative administrative building on Lincoln Way in Jefferson. Board Chair John Muir said they have a proposal from Midland about the County purchasing the building. County Auditor Jane Heun mentioned a public hearing will need to happen before the purchase is finalized.
The Board then approved the business property tax credits for industrial, commercial and railroad properties that applied as presented, and a letter of support and financial commitment for Greene County Development Corporation and Rowland Construction for a housing project in Scranton. The letter of support will be used to apply for workforce housing tax credits for one four-plex unit that will be located at the corner of State and Lincoln streets. The Supervisors will also commit $10,000 toward the project.
