As we close in on the summer season, one event is returning to Jefferson to promote shopping locally and to provide entertainment at the same time.
Jefferson Matters: Main Street is once again hosting the “Chews Jefferson” weekly event this month and next month. Every Wednesday in June and July from 12:15-12:30pm, there will be musicians playing live music on the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower four octave bells. A new addition to the event is due to COVID-19 concerns, with no specific restaurant targeted for specials, but individuals are encouraged to order take out food from the restaurants.
JMMS Promotions Team Co-Chair Angie Gingery suggests outdoor seating includes the Bell Tower Plaza, Thomas Jefferson Gardens, and Sally’s Alley, or they can stay inside their vehicles to listen to the concert.
The Promotions Team and the Bell Tower Community Foundation are co-hosting the weekly events.
