One of the most popular summer programs through Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach has gone digital this year.

Due to ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in the area, the Food Preservation 101 class was in danger of being canceled, which has been the fate of several other Extension programs. However, organizers felt like food preservation was something that could easily translate to an online course, so they’ll be offering it for free through September. There are specific times it will be offered and a maximum number of participants allowed per course, so registration is required. The next occurrence will be June 18th at 8 p.m. After that, the class will be offered at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on July 7th and August 20th, and at 7 p.m. on September 10th. The sessions are one hour long and it will be the same program each time, so there’s no need to sign up for multiple dates.
