Three more Dallas County residents have died due to complications of COVID-19 as of Friday, bringing the countywide death toll to 20.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, the three deaths in Dallas were among 17 new casualties reported across the state, with 520 Iowans now dead as a result of coronavirus. Additionally, there were six more positive tests for the virus in Dallas County reported Friday, as well as two more in Guthrie and one more in Adair. The local totals are now 882 in Dallas, 49 in Guthrie, and nine in Adair. The IDPH also reports that 563 patients in Dallas have recovered, with 33 in Guthrie, and five in Adair. Greene County’s numbers remain unchanged as of Friday, with 14 cases confirmed and 14 recovered.
Statewide the total of positive cases increased by 267, for a total of 18,791 since the pandemic began. There have also been 127,060 negative tests to date, and 10,600 patients recovered.
