Sonya Pierce and Shannon Neff-Muell, GCSB Universal Bankers
As Guthrie County residents responded to the “May Day” distress signal to help out their neighbors during Guthrie County State Bank’s “Celebrate May Day” promotion, the bank went beyond their promise to donate $5,000 back to their communities.
GCSB customers were invited to submit acts of kindness through social media with the hashtag #GCSBMayDay, and nominate a local business or non-profit to receive a $500 donation to help with financial needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. GCSB initially planned to draw 10 winners, but since the 14 submissions nominated 11 entities, the bank stepped up and gave to the 11 nominees, totaling $5,500.
