The Greene County School Board met Thursday morning in special session.
The Board approved a $499,000 change order for the middle school conversion project. The initial bid that was previously approved was $4,099,000 for the renovations and improvements. However, there were two alternates not included in the bid, a $215,000 expense for new boilers and a $400,000 expense for the main office improvements. After discussions with the contractor, Henkel Construction, the $400,000 expense was reduced to $201,000.
Additionally, the Board approved a $5,400 change order for additional asbestos removal in the building, due to the contractor, Site Selectors, finding more asbestos in the gym area heating pipes.
