With a shortened season due to the Covid-19 outbreak in Iowa, high school baseball and softball teams will begin practice on Monday, June 1, with games beginning two weeks after on June 15.
Dallas Center-Grimes Softball and Baseball have high hopes heading into the summer. DC-G Softball is coming off of a State Tournament appearance in Fort Dodge in 2019.
On Monday, June 15, DC-G will open its baseball and softball season on the road versus Little Hawkeye Conference foe, Norwalk. The Lady Warriors finished their season last year with a 20-15, and spent a few weeks in the State’s Top 15 rankings in Class 4A, before struggling late in the season.
A year ago, Norwalk Baseball finished one game under the .500 mark, at 17-18.
With an abbreviated regular season, high school teams will be playing most week nights throughout the second half of June and the month of July to get in as many games as they can before District and Regional playoff events begin.
