A Panora man was arrested for felony weapon and other charges Wednesday.
Court documents show that at about 11 a.m. May 21st, the Panora Police Department was called to the 100 block of North 1st Street for a property exchange. During the encounter a woman informed an officer that her ex-boyfriend 25-year-old Austin James Blass had a shotgun in the closet of the apartment, and she was with Blass when he retrieved it from his previous residence in Guthrie Center a couple weeks ago. A criminal history check of Blass found that he is prohibited from possessing firearms. The shotgun was then recovered from the residence.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office arrested Blass Wednesday on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony; first degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor; and probation violation for a conviction of second degree theft and fourth degree criminal mischief.
