It’s all sails ahead for baseball and softball around the state.

AC/GC baseball is looking to make huge strides with their program bringing back a group that features a unique core that has both youth and experience. Last season, AC/GC had eight players record over 50 at-bats. Of those eight, only three of them were seniors and featured one junior in Bryce Littler. This breaks down to half of their top batters were freshman and sophomores gaining valuable experience with each time out. That goes for their pitching staff as well. Of their 28 games, almost half of their starters were in grade 10 or below. What this all translate to is a very young team who is still learning to play together. Practice is set to begin June 1st with opening day slated for Monday, June 15th at Woodward-Granger. Head Coach Taylor Morris says there is a lot of work that needs to be done between now and then.

You can hear more from Coach Morris on Monday’s Guthrie County P.M. Sports Page beginning at 6 p.m. on K107.9 FM.
