Tornadic activity continued through the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area Tuesday afternoon as a tornado warning was issued for Guthrie County.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at about 4 p.m. for western Guthrie County and east central Audubon counties due to radar indicated rotation. Four members of the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team brought live coverage of the storm until it was cancelled around 4:20 p.m. This followed a tornado warning that was issued at 1:25pm for north central and eastern Dallas County, which activated the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team coverage. Trained storm spotters reported a tornado had touched down near Dallas Center and Waukee. The warning ended at 2:15pm.
Dallas Co Emergency Management Coordinator AJ Seely reported heavy cloud rotation in the 21000 block on Highway 169 near Minburn, which also activated the severe weather sirens in Perry, but no confirmation of a tornado. Seely confirmed to Raccoon Valley Radio of reports of damage on North 10th Street and Hickman Road in Waukee. He said based on initial reports, the tornado was believed to be an EF0 or EF1.
A tornado watch remains in effect for Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties until 8pm.
