With the ever changing landscape of the Iowa Department of Public Health’s statewide dashboard for COVID-19, Greene County continues to report low numbers.

Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf says as of Wednesday morning, there have been 13 confirmed cases of the virus with all cases recovered. Additionally, there have been no deaths and no outbreaks of the virus at long-term care facilities. Wolf notes 259 county residents have been tested with 245 negative cases, and 1,313 people have taken the TestIowa assessment. Two people have needed to be hospitalized due to the virus. Wolf encourages anyone in the County to take the assessment.

“Even if you’re not symptomatic or concerned, just get on there and do the assessment. And then they will periodically send you an email and ask questions, and if it seems like according to your answers that you need to be tested then they can do that too.”

Overall, Wolf appreciates everyone doing their part to prevent the community spread of COVID-19.

“I just want to thank everybody from Greene County, because it’s not public health that are making these numbers, it’s the people of Greene County that are doing the work. We truly appreciate that, but just keep it up.”

Anyone with questions regarding the virus can contact the Greene County Public Health COVID-19 hotline at 515-386-0564. Calls are answered from 8am-8pm.
