The Iowa Governor’s Scholar Program honors the brightest students nominated from each of the state’s high schools, and for Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, their recipient feels good carrying on a family tradition.
Bryce Littler received a recognition plaque and certificate to commemorate his achievement as being the highest academic achiever in his senior class. An Adair resident, Littler has participated in several sports, along with Leos Club, and National Honor Society. He shares how it felt to be named a Governor’s Scholar, “It’s very rewarding because I spent a lot of time and a lot of hard work and effort putting in the last four years to attain the GPA and tried really hard to get this goal. It’s been a goal of mine ever since I can remember, my mom was a valedictorian and my grandma was a valedictorian so they’re all kind of role models for me.”
Though an in-person ceremony wasn’t held for the scholars and their most influential teachers this year, Littler presented the certificate to high school government and history teacher Mr. Bolton this week. He plans to attend Iowa State University next fall majoring in finance with minors in economics and ag business.
