More public entities in Greene County are opening their doors again to the public.
The Jefferson City Hall is now open from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. The doors were temporarily closed to the public due to COVID-19 concerns. City Administrator Mike Palmer tells Raccoon Valley Radio they are not requiring the general public to wear face masks when entering City Hall and due to a glass partition at the front counter, City staff are also not wearing masks.
However, anyone who comes into City Hall is expected to observe social distancing recommendations and there is a table 10-12 feet away from the counter for individuals needing to fill out forms. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
The Greene County Courthouse will remain closed until June 3rd and the Jefferson Public Library will also remain closed to the public until June 8th when the Board of Trustees will re-evaluate the situation. The Greene County Community Center in Jefferson is open to the public, with specific requirements to follow.
