A Redfield man was arrested for an incident that allegedly occurred in Stuart early Sunday morning.

Court documents show that at about 1:12 a.m. the Stuart Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Southwest 7th Street for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the resident who stated that an argument occurred with her brother, 25-year-old Cody Alan Brommel of Redfield, and he was asked to leave. She said he then re-entered her apartment without her permission and assaulted her boyfriend. The resident showed the officer video footage of the incident, and asked that charges be filed against Brommel. The boyfriend claimed to be uninjured and stated he didn’t want assault charges filed against Brommel.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office then found Brommel at his apartment, where he admitted to being involved in an altercation. He was arrested and charged with third degree burglary, a class D felony, and was transported to the Adair County Jail, where he was later released on a $5,000 bond.
