Friday, May 15th

12:45am: An officer located an unlocked padlock on a storage unit at 1503 North Elm Street. The officer found the unit to be empty and secured the lock.

2:37am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 508 North Elm Street. The officer located an employee present, who had accidentally tripped the alarm.

4:11am: Michael Martinez requested a Welfare Check on a male at 1216 Westwood Drive #11. The officer spoke to the male who was fine and needed no assistance.

7:46am: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Jonathan Macias of Des Moines being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign and Fail to Have a Valid License.”

8:26am: Wendy Vanderlinden reported a Stray Dog in the 200 Block of South Grimmell Road. The officer did not locate the reported animal.

9:04am: A & W reported an Attempted Burglary at 300 North Elm Street. Unknown subjects had gained access to the roof and attempted to gain entry to the business through an air exchange unit, causing damage to the unit. The business is checking recent video surveillance recordings and the officer is investigating.

3:23pm: An officer checked the area of the 600 Block of South Walnut Street after dispatch received a 911 Call from the area. A female was mowing and accidentally dialed 911. No assistance was needed.

4:00pm: Dispatch received an Accidental 911 Call from the 1300 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. A child was playing with a phone. No assistance was needed.

3:37pm: Dispatch received an Accidental 911 Call from the 200 Block of Deer Run. The male advised it was an accident and no assistance was needed.

8:28pm: Melonie Perin reported a small grass fire on Westwood, near the west city limits. Jefferson Fire responded and put out the small grass fire.

10:31pm: A caller advised of a male attempting to enter vehicles in the 200 Block of North Oak Street. The reported subject was not located.

11:28pm: Nathan Anderson reported a vehicle had struck his parked vehicle and drove away from the accident. Anderson’s 2003 Honda Pilot was legally parked in the 100 Block of West Clark Street when it was struck. The officer later spoke to the owner of the other vehicle involved. Karlan Langfitt advised he had struck the Anderson vehicle in his 2004 Ford F150 and left the area. Each vehicle had a reported $3000.00 in damages. Langfitt was cited for, “Not Reporting Accident.”

Saturday, May 16th

12:15am: Jacob Thomas reported a large Stray Dog near 106 West Washington Street. The officer located the animal but could not get near it, as it would run from the officer.

11:55am: A Traffic Stop in the 900 Block of North Cedar Street resulted in Tony Sparks of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

1:51pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 400 Block of South Olive Street.

Sunday, May 17th

6:15am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 500 Block of North Chestnut Street for, “Parked Across Sidewalk.”

6:30am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of West Adams Street for, “Parking Between the Lot Line and Curb Line.”

6:55am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of East Monroe Street for, “Parked Across Sidewalk.”

8:47am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Drive. All was found to be normal at the facility.

10:44am: An officer covered a One Vehicle Property Damage Accident at 106 West Washington Street. Bill Ocker, of Yale, was turning into the west entrance to the lot when he turned too sharply and struck a large landscaping rock. His 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 suffered a reported $1000.00 in damages. The rock was not damaged.

12:02pm: Dispatch received an Accidental 911 Call from 405 East Vest Street. No assistance was needed.

1:24pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 400 Block of North Pinet Street.

5:07pm: Vicki Williams reported she had been assaulted by a known female at 905 West Lincoln Way Street. She advised the known female was at the residence when an argument started. Williams reported the female knocked her down and chocked her before leaving on foot. The officer is investigating.

8:58pm: James Ford reported a Possible Intoxicated Female walking in the 200 Block of West McKinley Street. The officer located the female, who advised she was lost. She consented to a Preliminary Breath Test and was well under to limits. The officer provided her a ride across town to her destination.
