Those who haven’t sought services from the New Opportunities Guthrie County Family Development Center before are reminded they are eligible for food assistance this month.

Any household that shows a need for food from now through the end of May can receive an emergency food package regardless of income level. Guthrie County residents just need to contact their office located in Guthrie Center City Hall to go over a pantry list of items your household can use and schedule a pick up time. Curbside pickup and some delivery options are available. Coordinator Rhonda Huggins also wants to remind residents that the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program has also been extended to June 30th for those struggling to pay their heat or electric bill.
