Healthcare workers continue to be on the frontlines of COVID-19, and during National Hospital Week, now more than ever area hospitals are playing a vital part in the care and safety of patients and employees.

Greene County Medical Center is doing a few things to recognize the week. Interim CEO Tracy Warner says each employee received a t-shirt and a dedication pin for their service to healthcare, along with hanging banners at the employee entrances and the clinic and main entrances to the medical center. Warner points out the 2020 theme is “Prepare to Care” and she acknowledges that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this theme rings particularly true.

She thanks all of the medical center employees for their work to continue in the healthcare field.

“It’s a time to recognize the contributions of the country’s hospitals, as well as the individuals that work with them. That includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and other clinicians, to all other staff, and even volunteers that are devoting their lives to providing the communities with quality care and service.”

Warner also thanks the community for their support, especially during the pandemic.
