Libraries in Guthrie County are gradually reopening since Governor Kim Reynolds allowed them to with some provisions in lieu of COVID-19.
The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center is open from 2-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m.-noon Fridays and Saturdays. The library is limiting patrons’ time to 30 minutes per visit. The meeting room and public restroom is closed at this time, and patrons 16 years and older may use computers. Curbside service is also being provided to those who call ahead.
The Panora Public Library is only providing curbside pickup on Monday through Friday at this time, and is continuing to offer a free book selection outside the front door. The Stuart Public Library has not reopened to the public yet, but has begun distributing bags of books to kids at the Stuart Elementary meal pick up.
