The Guthrie County Auditor submitted her resignation this week.
Human Resources Director Pam Lane notified department heads and county elected officials Tuesday that Marci McClellan submitted her resignation to the Board of Supervisors effective immediately, citing health issues. Supervisor JD Kuster tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Board will consider accepting her resignation at their next meeting May 12th, and will discuss next steps in filling that position.
McClellan has served as County Auditor since 2016. As Board Secretary, McClellan has been absent from Board meetings and the courthouse since February 7th. This wasn’t the first time McClellan had taken an extended leave from her office, as Supervisor Jack Lloydd addressed a five week absence last October. McClellan didn’t file nomination papers for reelection, and Deputy of Elections Dani Fink is the sole name on the ballot for the June 2nd primary. The Supervisors also approved hiring Katherine Shaw as a part-time employee for the Auditor’s Office until June 4th at their recent meeting.
