Former Greene County and Jefferson-Scranton school board member Sam Harding is volunteering his time to be the school district’s representative for the new high school and Iowa Central Community College Career Academy construction project.
On today’s Sports Page, Harding talks about how those from the past will be honored at the new facility. “Just outside the gym there’s going to be a lot of display for honoring the past athletics and activities, and all kinds of things for the whole history of the school.” He added the display would not only be for the current Greene County School, but for those that went before it, including East Greene, Scranton, Cooper, and Jefferson-Scranton. “It’s going to be a great, great, place to be!”
Harding noted construction of the high school academic wing, gymnasium, and the Iowa Central Career Academy, are on schedule to open in early August, in time for the 2020-21 school year.
