Four Guthrie County residents have recently been appointed to the Guthrie County ISU Extension and Outreach Council nominating committee.

The members selected to nominate Extension Council candidates for five vacant four-year terms in the 2020 election are Kirsten Meacham of Stuart, Troy Stanley of Bagley, Ryan Steensen of Guthrie Center, and Jenny Van Gundy of Yale. By law the committee must include two women and two men and cannot include any current member of the Council. Candidates nominated by the committee must submit petitions containing the names of 25 qualified voters to the county election commissioner by 5 p.m. August 26th. Individuals can also petition for the ballot through a self-nominated process. Petition forms are available at the Guthrie County Auditor’s Office and county extension office. Voters will then cast ballots for the nominees in the November 3rd general election.
