In-person absentee voting in Guthrie County has begun for the primary election, despite the county courthouse still being closed to the public because of COVID-19.

Voters can visit the west-facing entrance of the courthouse, where there is a bell to ring to alert the Auditor’s Office to assist. Only one voter or voter household will be allowed inside at a time. The voters then cast their ballot at one of two polling stations inside the entry stairwell. Guthrie County Deputy Auditor Dani Fink along with Secretary of State Paul Pate encourages citizens to vote by absentee through the mail, to protect everyone’s health and safety as well as poll workers during this pandemic. Absentee ballot requests must be received by the Guthrie County Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. May 22nd for a ballot to be mailed to the voter. For more information call the Auditor’s Office at 641-747-3619.
