As large-scale summer events in the state like the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa have postponed until 2021 for COVID-19 concerns, several town festivals in Guthrie County have gone the same route.
The Panora Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday they are cancelling their Panorama Days celebration that was scheduled August 7-9. The Chamber officers stated that it was not an easy decision to cancel, but due to the unknowns of COVID-19 and financial structure the festival requires, they feel it’s best to focus on planning for next year. The Adair Fire Department has also decided to cancel their annual Chuckwagon Days this week, and the Stuart Sesquicentennial Committee recently announced the postponement of the 150th celebration to June 18-20, 2021. As for other annual summer events in Guthrie County, changes for Casey Fun Days, Yale’s Fourth of July celebration, and the Guthrie County Fair have not been announced.
