Memorial services for two Perry girls who lost their lives in a single-vehicle wreck last week will be held tomorrow, and the public is invited to attend.
The funeral for eight-year-old Lindsay Brown and five-year-old Claire Brown begins at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Perry High School Performing Arts Center. Although the entire community is welcome to join the services, attendees are asked to wear a face mask and practice social distancing due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Those who aren’t feeling well tomorrow morning or are unable to attend the memorial service are invited to watch the service online through the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care website. Burial will take place following the ceremony at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
The girls were among the six children under the age of 11-years-old with a 16-year-old driver who were involved in the rollover wreck near Jamaica on April 28th. Claire was reported deceased at the scene, and Lindsey died after being taken by Air Ambulance to Mercy Hospital. Their 11-year-old sister Katelyn and 7-year-old brother Eli were injured in the crash, but both have since returned home. Also injured but recovering are 16-year-old Micheal Crane of Perry, 11-year-old Randy Seratt of Dawson, and 5-year-old Carter West of Dawson. The incident remains under investigation by Iowa State Patrol. Click the link below to visit the Carris Funeral Home website and access the online service or to leave condolences and memorials.
