Absentee voting for the June 2nd primary election is underway.

The Secretary of State’s office sent out absentee request forms in the mail to all eligible voters, which should be arriving in the mail soon, if not already. The Greene County Auditor’s office reminds those county residents that may not have received an absentee request form to either call their office or click the link below to print a copy of the request form. The form then needs to be mailed to the auditor’s office by May 24th in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you. The Secretary of State’s office is encouraging voters to participate in absentee voting, due to safety concerns with COVID-19.

In-person early voting is also now available at the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson. Voters may enter the courthouse by the east door only or they can vote curbside, due to the courthouse continuing to be closed to the public until further notice. In-person voting will be from 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. The public is encouraged to follow public health guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus and the auditor’s office asks those who may have COVID-19 symptoms or who have been around someone who tested positive for the virus in the last 14 days to not vote in-person.
