Four individuals at the Woodward Resource Center have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, three residents and a staff member at the center were found to have contracted coronavirus. The residents have been isolated in separate housing and their conditions are being frequently monitored. Once they meet the requirements for being symptom free, they will return to their normal residences. The staff member is the sixth DHS employee at five different facilities to test positive since the community spread began, and the first at Woodward. The other individuals are also the first known coronavirus cases in residents of the state-run facilities.
The Woodward Resource Center houses and cares for people with severe disabilities.
