Registration is now open for the summer program of Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (PACES).
The summer schedule will run from June 1st through August 14th, and there will be no programming on July 2nd or 3rd. PACES Director Mary Hillman emphasizes that the dates are tentative, due to uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Particularly, it’s unknown what the expected social distancing requirements will be in June, as well as the exact start date of the next school year. Hillman points out that while they will offer the same educational and fun summer programming, there will be no field trips this year and a few other activities are still up in the air. She promises they are working hard on programming and plan to have an engaging summer for the students.
Families interested in signing up can obtain registration forms by emailing lila.modlin@g.perry.k12.ia.us or by reaching out to Hillman via social media. They can also be picked up May 11th and 12th from 10:30 a.m. – noon at the east entrance to Perry Elementary. Forms can then be mailed back, along with a $20 registration fee to PACES Learning Center, 1600 8th Street, Perry, IA 50220, or dropped off the same date and time as mentioned. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to act fast, and acceptance letters will be mailed to families later this month.
