Early voting opens Monday for the June 2nd primary election, and the Dallas County Auditor’s Office is striving to make the process safer for voters and poll workers.
All Dallas County residents can vote curbside at the Auditor’s Office in Adel, a process normally reserved for handicapped, elderly, or ill individuals. To take advantage of the service, voters will need to pull into the parking lot at 210 North 10th Street, and park in a space marked with a curbside voting sign. They then must call the office staff at 515-993-6914, and someone will come to the vehicle to get the proper information. The ballots and forms will be delivered to the car, and when completed the staff will bring it safely to the ballot box located inside the building. Early voting is open May 4th through June 1st.
The initiative is part of the local COVID-19 response, which encourages voters to take part in the primary election in a different way than showing up to the polls on June 2nd. All registered voters in Iowa should have also received absentee ballot request forms in the mail, which can be mailed to their respective county auditor by May 22nd.
