
Dallas County experienced its largest single-day increase in positive COVID-19 tests Saturday, with 107 new confirmed cases.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, there are now 515 coronavirus occurrences in the County, though 1,496 tests have been conducted and 124 patients have fully recovered. There were also increases elsewhere in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, with Guthrie County up to 22 cases and Greene County at 10. Four patients in Guthrie and one in Greene have reportedly recovered. As a whole, Iowa also saw the biggest increase in positive tests to date, with 757 new occurrences. The IDPH reports 87% of the new occurrences are in the 22 counties where restrictions remain in place.
There have now been 8,641 positive cases in the state with 353 currently hospitalized, as well as 41,085 negative tests and 3,156 have recovered. Around 1-in-63 Iowans have already been tested. There were also five new coronavirus-related deaths reported Saturday, in Linn, Polk, Tama, and Woodbury counties, raising the death toll to 175. There have been no casualties in the listening area.
