Three West Central Valley High School seniors were selected as part of this year’s All-State artists.

Alexcia Overbeck, Gage Perrigo, and Evelyn Woodson were named the Class 2A All-State Visual Art recipients for the portfolios they each submitted of 10 pieces of work with an artist statement that were judged by professors from the University of Iowa, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and St. Ambrose University. The program, held by Art Educators of Iowa, selects the top 20 percent of applicants across the state, and 20 students were chosen this year. The artists will receive a banner to hang at their school and online recognition from the Des Moines Art Center.
