COVID-19 cases continue to swell in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, with Dallas, Greene, and Guthrie counties each having new positive tests confirmed Friday.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health the coronavirus occurrences in Dallas County took another big leap, with 90 new cases reported for a total of 408 to date. There have now been 1,200 people tested in Dallas, with 98 infected individuals fully recovered. There are 22 total confirmed cases in Guthrie County according to Guthrie County Public Health, with five of them recovered, and seven in Greene, with one recovered. There have been no deaths in any of the three counties due to COVID-19.
Statewide there were 739 additional positive tests, bringing the total to 7,884 to date. The Iowa Department of Public Health also announced there were eight additional deaths reported, with the individuals from Bremer, Linn, Muscatine, Polk, and Scott counties. The coronavirus death toll in Iowa is now at 170. The IDPH also reports there has been a total of 37,708 negative tests in the state, with 1 in 69 Iowans already tested, and 2,899 infected people have recovered.
