Greene County High School senior volleyball and soccer player Aubrey Heupel talked with Raccoon Valley Radio. When asked what it was like not having school or any school-related activities, she said, “It’s been really weird! It’s hard to get used to waking up in the morning and going to work or going to babysit instead of taking my sisters to school with me. My sisters and I were all looking forward to whatever activities we had after school. It’s really weird that we’re at home all the time instead of out doing all the things we normally do.”

Heupel is a multiple all-conference academic selection in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, twice an honorable mention all-conference volleyball setter, and twice a volleyball team Captain. She had more than 1,200 sets in her varsity career, and said that was a goal of hers. “My sophomore year, the setter for Perry got an award on her senior night for 1,000 sets. I looked up to (then head coach Donna) Carhill and said by my senior year that better be happening to me, and so I made sure that it did.”

Aubrey will be joining older sister Emily as a student at Iowa State University.
