It’s been more than a month since the community spread of COVID-19 affected everything in our daily lives, and a regional entity is seeking to quantify that impact with a business survey.
Local chambers of commerce have partnered with the Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives (ICCE) and the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank to collect information on how the coronavirus outbreak has affected business in the midwest. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says they previously conducted a local survey, but emphasizes that this is a chance to see the bigger picture. “Two weeks ago, things looked a little bit different, because it was more uncertain and not knowing how we were all impacted yet. But now this is a chance to kind of take a look at that again through a larger survey, and as as member of ICCE we’re able to tap into those results as well. So (we’re) encouraging members to fill that out, so that we have some information across the board that can maybe be passed on to lawmakers or other relief efforts to see how things are going.”
Pasutti adds, she’s unsure at this time what exactly the impact of the survey will be, but asks that each member business provide input, regardless of how they’ve been affected by the pandemic.
