Prior to Governor Kim Reynolds announcement of keeping school buildings closed for the rest of the current school year, the Greene County School Board approved an extension of the pandemic pay for non-exempt and hourly school district employees.
The Board approved at their regular monthly meeting on April 15th to extend pandemic pay to non-exempt and hourly employees through April 30th. The resolution was originally approved at a special meeting on March 31st that went through April 10th, before the governor extended the temporary building closures through the end of the month. Greene County School District Superintendent Tim Christensen says the Board will meet in special session on April 29th to continue the pandemic pay resolution through the rest of the school year, to coincide with the governor’s mandate.
“Again, we’re continuing to pay everybody. But those are the people (who) may not be logging in on a daily basis (and) clocking hours. They are doing a variety of work but may not be doing it on a daily basis that that resolution addresses.”
Examples of non-exempt and hourly employees include associates and cook staff.
